I worked my first gig at a daycare center and had a wonderful time. The children were very receptive and they all had a blast. In fact, they were so excited that they all got up and started dancing to the music that I used for my intro. That wasn't supposed to happen! It threw me off kilter for a few seconds but then I said to myself, "Oh what the heck" and started dancing with them which only energized them even more so! Following the dancing, it took me a minute or two to calm them back down so I could go into my act. It was crazy!
The hardest part was saying goodbye. They begged me to either stay or to at least come back tomorrow.
