It never ceases to amaze me at what will keep children entertained. As an example, one of the gigs today was for a client who had requested my Full Party Package. It was a huge success and the children had a blast playing the games. They had so much fun that I didn't think they were ever going to stop playing this one particular game that I discovered years ago and requires a significant amount of skill. This game is always a big hit with children of all ages despite the fact that it is so simple in concept. This is a game that children will play over and over as if they are addicted to it. It requires two simple objects...clothes pins and a jar. Combine those items and add some competition  and you have one whopper of a game!

Today was also a first for me. I was able to perform a new trick for the first time after spending many months of rehearsal time tweaking and modifying the trick to the point where I felt comfortable performing it in front of a live audience.Today, I performed it during my magic to music segment and heard several people respond with ooo's and aah's. That kind of a response is always music to a magician's ears. I can't wait to perform it again.

Not to be out done by Dexter, The Great Spumoni taught all of us a new routine that he recently learned. In this routine a volunteer is asked to choose a balloon from a bag full of balloons. The balloon is then inflated and the nozzle tied off. Next, the volunteer is asked to sign her name on a dollar bill. The magician then takes the bill and asks the volunteer to hold the balloon. At this point, the magician pushes the bill inside of the balloon right through the solid, side wall. Naturally, the volunteer does not believe this miracle actually occurred ...until she shakes the balloon and hears the bill rattling around inside! The final convincer occurs when the balloon is popped and the signed bill is seen laying on the ground amongst the heap of balloon scraps!

Armed with this new routine I decided to give it a test drive in a real, live performance. I added it to my shows yesterday and received stunned responses. This is a definite keeper.

By the way, the sober grad night last Thursday was a lot of fun. The glitter tattoos were a big hit and the senior class had a great time. Thanks Enochs High School for allowing us the opportunity to contribute to a wonderful event.

Imagine this. A magician shows his hands to be completely empty then asks you to place a single drop of water or some other liquid into his open hand. The drop of water is then covered with his other hand. The magician squeezes his hands together until suddenly a large chunk of ice drops from his hands onto a table!

This amazing effect was taught to myself, B.A. Lloon, and Spumoni by our friend and fellow performer-Dexter Methorphan. Dexter has successfully performed this effect a number of times to shouts of "OMG how did you that !?"
Thanks Dexter, for sharing this cool (no pun intended) effect. I can't wait to give this a try.

I am looking forward to this coming Thursday night as I have the opportunity to provide glitter tattoos for a High School grad night.
