How Long Should the Party Be and Is There a Guideline For the Number of Guests?

8/21/2011

Generally speaking the length of the party and the number of guests depends upon the age of the birthday child.

For preschool children the party should last no more than 1 hour.
The party duration for children ages 5 to 6 years old should run from 1.5 hours to 2 hours.
For children ages  seven to eight years old, the party should not exceed 2.5 hours.
Finally, the party should not exceed 3 hours for children eight years and over.

Regarding the number of guests, the rule of thumb says that you should have about the same number of guests as the age of the birthday child. Of course there are exceptions. Some children are very capable of handling more guests than their age would suggest therefore it is perfectly okay to invite a few more guests than the child's age. The primary concern is to not overwhelm the birthday child.

Summer Is Over

8/12/2011

Well, summer is over and I have had a great time bringing laughs to children as young as 4 years and to adults in their 30's and 40's and beyond. I have performed at everything from birthday parties to graduation parties and have met a lot of wonderful people along the way!! To all of you, I want to say it was an honor meeting you and a privilege to bring a little laughter to your soul. I am reminded of a quote from a famous clown by the name of Red Skelton. He once said,

"If by chance some day when you're not feeling well and you should remember something I've said or done and it brings back a smile to your face or a chuckle to your heart, then my purpose as your clown has been fulfilled"

Likewise, it is my sincere hope that I too have fulfilled my purpose as your clown.

I wish you all the very best and I want to express my deepest appreciation for trusting in me to entertain your children and guests.
